This baroque style building is flanked by four square towers capped by strongly
sloping roofs. The interior is remarkably well restored, wooden ceilings decorated with frescos,
re-furbished paintings, chapels, etc... At the height of the school's success
in 1608 there were 1,300 students, the foundation stone of the chapel was laid in 1581 but the
chapel was not concecrated until 1649. The building is now used as a performance
space with concerts, there is a busy season and details can be found at the tourist office next
