|Belcastel is one of the most beautiful villages in France and stands astride the river Aveyron, from which the département takes
But Belcastel offers the visitor more than just that, the entire valley is of exceptional beauty.
The castle and bridge have been listed as historic monuments since 1928. Also worthy of note is the church parts of which date from the 15th century.
The bridge (late 15th century) is beautifully proportioned and there is an altar (a rather unusual feature) about half way across with a fine carved stone cross.
